Photographing the 2026 New York City Blizzard

Took a walk through New York City during the blizzard of February 2026 with my camera.

What attracts me most about photographing in these conditions from a visual perspective is the additional layer of atmosphere overlaying everything, abstracting light and creating an almost painterly look of familiar landmarks and streets. Always a fun, albeit cold, time observing and studying how the environment interacts with the snow.

From an experiential perspective, just the fact that the streets are almost apocalyptically empty adds another layer of uneasiness to the time spent outdoors exploring. It’s eerily quiet as well as the snow absorbs most sounds, enhancing the experience.

Capturing the emirate of Sharjah for Assouline

Sharjah: The Capital of Culture is a visual essay captured for Assouline celebrating the heritage, culture, and architecture of the emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

I had a lot of fun working with light and shadows, and with a great team of experts guiding me to the best spots to capture the essence of this place.
